It usually takes what, a thousand years to plan a wedding? Something like that. Its hard to make decisions! How can you know exactly what you want? But it was not hard for Christina and Eric (well, lets be honest, for Christina). This girl KNOWS what she wants, in work and life - in the best way possible. And what Christina (and Eric) wanted was to surprise all their friends and family! They somehow planned an unreal wedding in just a few months all while keeping it a complete secret from everybody! We were pretty honored to be in on it and even more honored to tell the story. This couple is the absolute best. Just watch it – you’ll see
11 years. That’s how long we’ve been together and that’s how long we’ve been making films together. It’s so hard to believe! And it truly has been an adventure.
As we look back on the past decade, we realize how fortunate we’ve been: we GET to work together (and it works well! Apparently this is rare?), we have each other, we’ve met (and continue to meet) some amazing people, and we love this industry.
As we look ahead to the future, we get super excited, and also feel that it’s time for an… update, if you will. So say hello to the new face of Hello Tomorrow
We wanted our branding to represent who we are and where we’re from, so we reached out to someone we’ve been a huuuuuge fan of for a while now… Alejandro Gomez. What he designed for us we could never have imagined ourselves, but it feels perfect to us! We hope you like it as much as we do :)
In addition to that, we also knew we wanted to create a new film - one that allows our followers and future couples to really see us and our work. We’d love for you to watch it. And we hope that through it you can see our excitement for life, our passion for what we do, and our love for our couples :)
Welcome to our new internet home. Get comfortable. We hope you stay a while.
Iceland is not a place I ever thought I would go. Childhood dreams don’t usually include this island in the far North - known mostly for its buried, rotten and fermented shark ‘delicacy’ (which p.s. I did not try...) But over the years (thank you Instagram), people have been discovering the absolute magic that is Iceland. With a landscape that changes almost as quickly as the weather, this land blew my mind every 5 minutes. After spending a very short time there, it became abundantly clear to us why Eva and Kyle chose this place for their elopement.
Eva and Kyle met on a beer-drinking league in university. (That's a thing?!? Awesome!) And after years of graduate school and jobs that kept them miles apart, they moved to Vancouver together. When we met them, it only took us a few short moments to realize these two are beyond awesome. (Oh - also I think it's important to note that Kyle is a meteorologist and Eva hates jam (What?! Who hates jam?!!)).
Getting to capture their elopement + spend the better part of a week with them while travelling around the insanity that is Iceland is something that will stay at the top of our ‘good times’ list for years to come. A truly unforgettable experience. And did we mention our great friends Shari + Mike were there too? Like I said, this trip was the best!
So please, find the biggest screen you can, turn out the lights, and enjoy this film.
Meet Ashleigh + Evret. Two of the kindest, most lovely souls we've ever met. On a windy (then sunny, then windy, then sunny, then cloudy, then windy, then rainy, then cloudy) and beautiful day in August, Ashleigh and Evret invited their loved ones up into the mountains to be a part of their wedding. It was perfect. See for yourself.
When I think about what we do, I have moments when I really realize just how lucky we are. We get a front row seat to one of the best days of a couples life. We get to be with them more than anyone else that day, and we get to see everything! We see the nerves in the morning, the excitement of the first look, the emotion at the ceremony, the joy at the reception and all the moments in between. We see it all. And we've seen it all. Every combination of emotion/reaction to every moment of the day. And as far as seeing a couple right up close goes, watching Alanna + Brandon on their wedding day was one of the most fun 'front row seat' experiences we've ever had.
These two are fuuuuuun. We fell in love with them when we first met them. We fell even harder when we created a film for their business a few months ago (watch here). And finally in creating their wedding film, we straight up fell over.
Watch this film. We know you'll fall for them too.
We met Jess. We LOVED Jess. She told us we would love Chris (who was in London). We believed her.
Fast forward to just before the wedding. We finally meet Chris. Jess did not lie. We do love Chris.
Jess and Chris together are SO fun, super laid back and addicted to travel. They even incorproated travel into their wedding and came from their home in London to the little mountain town of Pemberton to get married (doesn't matter that Jess is technically from Vancouver... )
As their love for travel and adventure is so apparent in all they do and the fact that BC blessed them with the best weather we've had to date this year - I think travel loves them too :) We hope you enjoy their film!
Suprise! This is not a wedding film!
While we (obviously) predominantly create wedding films, we have been doing commercial films as well for quite some time. We have always wanted to make it a bigger part of our work, but we've always been too busy! So this year we decided to MAKE time. We really wanted to create a film for a business that we were super interested in, tell a great story of the people behind it and just get creative with it! So we called up Alanna.
We met Alanna and Brandon when they hired us to film their wedding! (next month actually - yay!) We found out about their business and were immediately so impressed with how stinkin hard they work and how AWESOME their stuff is. If you live in Vancouver, you've probably seen their stuff. Been to Tacofino? They reno'd it. Been to Meat and Bread? They make all the boards for it. You've likely seen their "Pacific" logo somewhere. (Formerly 'Pacific Design Lab' and/or 'Pacific Solutions Contracting') Also you must add Daren to the Alanna + Brandon equation to make it complete.
When we met up with them to make this film we didn't realize just how much fun we would have and how much more we would come to love this company! While we were all talking, Daren told us how everyone at Pacific is like a family. A lot of people say this but these guys live it. After two shoot days we truly felt like we were a part of this family, which made telling their story so much fun.
And with that... meet Pacific.
For Maclean's birthday this year, we decided to go up the sea-to-sky gondola for the first time! This place is a must. see. A MUST SEE! Words cannot describe this view! Having spent my entire life driving the highway to Whistler, I had NO idea what I wasn't seeing! We invited some of our good friendsto come with us along with us - Shari and Mike Photographers and Jenna from Revel events (and Erica from Filosophi) and had SO much fun! Oh wait a second, my bad. Candice May and Chris invited all of us to come up because it was their wedding!
Either way this place blew my mind. Blew it right out of my head. And if you add to this view a gorgeous couple with a beautiful love story you get - one of my favorite wedding films yet.
So happy birthday Maclean! Even though we were technically 'working', we got to witness something beautiful, create something amazing AND spend it with some of our favorite peeps. Pretty solid day.
As our first wedding of 2016 and our first elopement ever, this wedding really raised our expectations for the rest of the season!
Kate and Scott chose to elope, to put it in Kate’s words, “because I’m the most awkward person ever”. A statement which later proved to be completely false . She was only a little bit awkward – more just super goofy and hilarious. Either way, eloping felt like the perfect fit for these two. We had so much fun shooting at the beach and in the forest and getting to play with Kate and Scott’s ginormous and super friendly dogs (it took me a little while to stop being terrified by the sheer size of these things, but they did turn out to be the most lovely dogs).
Kate + Scott are all about adventure, and now they are about to start a new one. We hope you enjoy the film.
PS We are so excited to be heading out on the road in a couple weeks down to California. We've got quite the adventure lined up. Follow along with us on Instagram!
If it wasn’t already obvious by my indistinguishable European-mashup of a name, the fact that I live my life void of any real discernible style or flair, combined with the absense of any accent – I am Canadian.
No, like seriously Canadian.
Not only was I, my parents and both sets of grandparents born and raised here, but when I ask my Grandma where her family was originally from she says ‘Canada’. Every. Single. Time.
“No, for real Grandma, they had to come from somewhere! What are we?!”
… “We’re Canadian!”
“No, you know what I-”
So there you have it. I love being Canadian, but its all I know! Which is probably why I am so fascinated by other peoples cultures.
Lets be honest here everyone, - of all the cultures I’m pretty sure Canada has the LEAST number of traditions. Especially in weddings. What do we have… Cake cutting, bouquet toss aaaand garter toss (which is weird right? Where did that one come from!) And that's… it?
Now look at Indian wedding traditions. Can they be counted? Not by me. I will guess there are a thousand.
Combine Indian traditions with our (3-ish) traditions and you get SUCH a fun wedding! I LOVE fusion weddings (that's what people tell me they are called) and in theory, I would like to have one! - Except I’m already married, and to another plain ‘Canadian’ (who I love so very much – Hi Mac!)
Pamy and Jake's wedding was no exception to the fusion-fun rule. And can I just say, the quality of the guests at this wedding was off the charts. Everyone was beyond lovely to Mac and I and we truly felt like guests with cameras.
