Iris + Vince || It's Like A Video Game

You've watched their engagement story, now check out the wedding highlights film. We've been reeeeeeally excited to share this one. Throughout Iris and Vince's wedding day, Erin and I couldn't stop laughing. From the door games in the morning to the dancing at night and all day in between, we were constantly cracking up. No joke my cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. For me the part of the day that really stood out most was the ceremony. In honour of Iris's late mother, they released a batch of balloons into the sky in remembrance of her. Then, surrounded by all of their family and friends at the beautiful Heritage Farm in Richmond, they exchanged their heartfelt vows to one another.

These two have a deep love for each other but it's also clear to see that they are best friends. We are truly honoured to have been a part of the wedding day and to call Vince and Iris our friends. They are some of the kindest and warmest people we've ever met. But enough chit chat… check out their highlights!

We had a great time shooting with Mark and Derek of Mark Guilaran Photography. Check out their site!

iris+vince=viris || the story

Iris and Vince are hilarious. These two are so relaxed and it is extremely rare to see either of them without a gigantic smile on their face. Earlier this summer, we had the pleasure of shooting a 'love story' type film with them to show at their reception. A perfect way for guests to get a better glimpse of who the couple is. We had a TON of fun filming with these two. Erin and I were constantly trying to keep ourselves from laughing behind the camera. We'll be posting their wedding highlights very soon but for now, learn a bit about them by watching this film.

marina + anthony || intimate beach wedding

She's from Argentina. He's from France. They live in Switzerland. They met in Vancouver. They got married in Tofino. I have only been to Tofino once before and it was on a road trip with my family. I was a teenager and spent the entire vacation hiding in the back of the motorhome listening to my disc-man as I was just HORRIFIED to be seen travelling in a motorhome WITH my family. So dramatic.

This time was different. I actually enjoyed the journey and it was inCREDIBLE! No wonder Marina and Anthony had their family travel across the world to celebrate their wedding day at this destination.

This wedding was so refreshing. It was so simple which made it so elegant. They really let the setting stand on its own which is something that isn't done enough these days. The ceremony was right on the edge of Wickaninnish Inn's private beach with seashells lining the isle and waves and islands in the background. A tiki-torch path led the way to the reception tent where 50 guests sat at 2 long tables on logs! The weather was a little ridiculous on their day as it started out freezing and sunny, then hot and sunny, then foggy and cold, then foggy and hot, then sunny again, then foggy and cold for the rest of the night. But this couple thought things through and cold guests could sit around a campfire and have SMORES! My kind of wedding!

I also need to mention the quality of guests at this wedding - half spoke french and half spoke spanish but EVERYONE could dance. Not just your average wedding dancing, these people could ACTUALLY dance - ballroom salsa dancing maniacs! NON STOP ALL NIGHT! Marina and Anthony warned me the dancing could go on forever and I did not believe. Whoops!

Marina and Anthony - your wedding was incredible! You took a lot of risks planning a wedding so far away but it absolutely paid off! Wishing you both all the best and we will knock on your door the day we make it to Switzerland! Congratulations!

Stella + Armstrong || Give Me A Hug (Erin's first blog post)

This is it - my very first blog post! Oh this is so exciting! Before I begin, I feel like there are a few things you all should know about how I write: I write like I talk, and I am faaaaar too expressive when I talk. I love me some caps lock and can't get enough dashes - you know, for when I would normally pause when I'm talking. I don't always believe in correct spelling and I lo-OVE exclamation marks! Annoying? You should meet me. I use my face way too much - my eyes NEVER close and my mouth is in a constant open smile… ew... How am I married?! Well, here goes nothing - be nice - its my first! Two weekends ago we filmed Stella and Armstrong's incredible backyard wedding! Let me tell you a few things about this couple: 1) Stella is quite possibly the most adorable woman I've ever met and Armstrong is a total babe; 2) vintage inspired and followed down to the last detail; 3) there was so much style at this wedding I felt like Mac and I should have gone home to change so we could fit in better; and 4) restored vintage mercedes and a convoy of harley's - need I say more?

Stella and Armstrong are both from Taiwan where Stella owns a chocolate cake and ice-cream shop and Armstrong has a clothing business. The couple really wanted to showcase these two loves and had sewing and baking details EVERYWHERE! (make sure to look closely at their incredible arch - hand crafted by Armstrong's father and decorated by the couple). Each table had multicoloured flowers in tin cans with vintage labels printed on them, vintage china plates and tea cups all with different patterns and even vintage chairs! Mac's favourite part was the fact that they served fresh flame cooked pizza, and MY favourite part was the desert table… I spent waaaay too much time there… This wedding was not only beautiful but SO much fun! Thank you Stella and Armstrong for having us share your special day - we had the best time and are so happy to have met you!
